We are a highly motivated father and sons team that have an abundance of experience not only operating equipment but also with the agronomical benefits and processes (there are many) that take place especially with the services we offer. Our Services
We offer unique services not very common with most custom farming companies such as custom plowing, custom power harrowing, as well as seeding of plowed fields in a single pass with unique equipment to the Alberta market. We also offer custom mowing that is more productive and leaves less trampled crop than most. Thousands of acres of experience will help us to choose optimal equipment and equipment combinations to best serve your needs.
What We Offer
Plowing
We use a very advanced Lemken reversible rollover plow that allows us to fine tune to produce an extremely clean finish.
Our current rate starts at $78 an acre (for larger square fields), included in our services is visiting the field, consulting, and providing you with a customized quote so please contact us!
Why Plow?
- Incorporate organic matter (large amounts possible)
- Aerate the soil to promote gas exchange necessary for the mineralization of organic matter
- Perfectly level the surface horizon
- Control tough to manage weeds
- Reduces pests such as gopher populations
- Retain winter moisture with fall plowing
- Conserve moisture in spring due to the breaking of the capillary at deeper layers of the soil
- Benefit for years to come (important when considering the cost of this pass)
Power Harrow + Seed Drill Combination
This machine allows us to offer you a solution to turn a old hayfield into a crop of your choosing in two passes (one pass plowing, one with this combination unit). The power harrow is unmatched in it's ability to smooth out and reconsolidate the roughest ground for a perfect seed bed followed by a precision disc drill that yields excellent emergence with narrower than common row spacing and high precision seed placement. It also allows to put down starter fertilizer if desired. For the combination pass our current rate is $79 an acre or $59 just for power harrowing for 80 acres or more in one field.
Custom Mowing
With this European mower conditioner combination we are perfectly equipped for the small odd sized fields with the ability to drive right into a corner as well as hard to beat productivity on the bigger areas having a total working width of just over 22 feet. We will leave two roller conditioned swaths that come from a 11 foot cut width resulting in an excellent dry down time. Our rate is $25 an acre with a minimum $150 travel charge
Custom Baling
We will be baling your hay, haylage, or straw with a highly productive Massey Ferguson Hesston 5X6 round baler. We charge $16 a bale with two wraps of net wrap (changes can be discussed) and a minimum $150 travel charge
